Is this course right for me?

You will be taught a range of technical treatments and services to enhance clients' appearance as well as improving their wellbeing. You will cover basic human anatomy and physiology to underpin the practical treatments you will be trained to deliver.

What will I be learning?

Facials, eye treatments, waxing, manicures, pedicures and make-up. You will learn the basic rules of human anatomy and physiology supported by the theoretical components required to develop the range of skills studied.

How will I learn?

You will be continually assessed throughout the course by way of direct observation and oral questions. Written tasks (projects) and final written tests are also a part of this qualification.

What else might I want to know?

This course is the first step into a dynamic growth industry and runs for two evenings each week. Students are required to wear a salon tunic for practical aspects of this course, to purchase an equipment kit for personal use during sessions and a text book for home study and use in theory sessions. Students are required to register with VTCT and purchase an assessment logbook.

What can I do afterwards?

Students can progress to NVQ3 Beauty therapy at South Devon College, this course is offered as an evening class and as a full time option.
