Who can take the Beauty Therapist course?
The Diploma is from UK Open Learning, one of the UK’s leading distance learning providers. You don’t need any special qualifications to sign up for the course; it is open to anyone.
Is the Beauty Therapist course a recognised qualification?
Yes, The course is accredited by Open College Network North West Region which is licensed by the National Open College Network, itself an awarding body approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The course is at Level Two which is the same in terms of difficulty as an NVQ Two. It has a credit value of 9 or 90 hours of learning. Credits are increasingly being seen as the currency of all learning achievements. Should you wish to progress from this course to further qualifications at a college or with an employer, then the certificate from OCN will stand you in good stead.
The course has been mapped against the National Occupational Standards for the Beauty industry set by habia.
Will I be able to become a Beauty Therapist after taking the course?
As this is a theoretical course you should gain some hands on training in a salon or practice on friends and family and then with this qualification you will be fully accredited.

How do I complete the course?
We send the full course out with the units listed above, you then read through the course at your own time completing the assignments which you send to your tutor for marking. There is no word count for these assignments however one sentence answers will be rejected and you will have to re-submit it for marking.
