First Aid Academy works with ITC First Aid Ltd to run training courses for those wishing to become first aid trainers. ITC is approved by the Health and Safety Executive and holds Awarding Body status.

Why become an ITC First Aid trainer?
ITC has 10 years of experience in supporting and helping trainers develop. We provide an innovative First Aid Trainers course highlighting the ethos of the organisation, as well as developing training methods, resource use and access to latest guidelines. We will support you so that you become a Trainer quickly. In addition to this you will benefit from the security, back up and credibility that comes from belonging to an established organisation.

In October 2009 the first aid industry in the UK underwent a major change. The HSE introduced a new 6-hour first aid course. The future of first aid training for the majority of businesses is this new 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work course. Our Trainers Induction course is developed so you can deliver this new course.

What do I need to become a trainer?
1 Attend a 2-day Trainer Induction course
Once you have successfully completed our Trainer Induction course you will receive your own comprehensive Trainers Pack and Logbook containing a CD of course images, teaching notes and a DVD of how to deliver the key course components
2 Hold a current First Aid at Work certificate
3 Be seen teaching and assessing a 100% of an Emergency First Aid course
This is to ensure new trainers can train and assess to the required national standard. There are a number of mechanisms to achieve this.
4 Hold a current teacher training qualification (By September 2010*)
