Course description
The part-time BEng Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering (top-up) is aimed at students who have already successfully completed the FdEng Aerospace Engineering course or who are able to demonstrate qualifications at an equivalent level in a relevant discipline.
The course provides you with the opportunity to further develop your knowledge, understanding and technical ability alongside your current professional role and with the support of your employer.
The course allows you to study the subjects introduced in the FdEng Aerospace Engineering in greater depth and also consolidate your learning, with aspects of aerodynamics, statics and dynamics, propulsion and control being brought together in the Aircraft Flight Mechanics & Simulation and Aircraft Design modules. A significant element of the course is also the Individual Project which is undertaken in the final year and provides you with the opportunity to plan and deliver a project with the support of your employer and a dedicated academic from the aerospace team.
While aerospace engineering provides the foundation of this course, emphasis is placed on the innovations and enabling technologies that are fundamental to the current growth of manufacturing in the aerospace industry.

Normally GCSEs grade C or above in four subjects including mathematics and English language, plus one of the following
• An EdExcel/BTEC/SCOTVEC National Certificate or Diploma in a science or technology-based subject, including passes in mathematics and two other science or technology-based modules at N3 level.
