This Module looks at benzodizepines, their history, how they work and the problems of addiction that they have caused over the last forty years in the Western world, and are still continuing to cause.

The Module helps to provide knowledge and impart understanding of how to support those who have long standing problems relating to these drugs.

The Module offers a model for withdrawal providing a workable withdrawal protocol and insight into many of the symptoms which clients may suffer.

It offers insight into why the long term benzodiazepine user may fail to attend appointments, panics without warning and becomes completely stuck when taking part in counselling.
