The scheme provides for the qualification of Cleaning Operatives and highlights the professional approach of the employing organisation. It does so by setting the standard for the levels of skills achievement that cleaning staff should have.

How does it work?

The training course consists of ten tasks that are chosen from the most commonly used tasks shown below. In order to achieve a pass the competencies and resources needed are to be proven in each of the chosen ten tasks

The tasks covered:

• Chemical Competence
• Machines: safe use & care
• Storage of equipment
• Mop sweeping
• Single solution mopping
• Two solution mopping
• Buffing
• Spray cleaning
• Wet shampooing
• Wall washing
• Window cleaning
• Pressure washing
• Graffiti removal
• Dust, damp wipe, wash, polish application
• Upholstery shampooing
• Cleaning toilets, wash hand basins, urinals, washroom furniture
