Course programme
Join Vic for a big cat encounter like no other, and spend a day to remember with lions, tigers, cheetahs, snow leopards, Amur leopards, Lynx, cougars and more at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation. Your day begins with a private guided tour, where you will be able to observe and photograph the cats at very close range, and in action, providing you with invaluable resource material for your own future paintings. After the tour, which lasts around 90 minutes, a break for coffee before beginning your own pastel portrait of one WHF’s cats under Vic’s tuition and guidance. No need to worry if you are unsure of your drawing skills, as the velour pastel paper has a ‘pencil’ outline pre-printed onto it, so all you need to do is concentrate on the pastel painting.
At lunchtime, feel free to browse the shop, or wander around the enclosures (please bring a packed lunch). After lunch, you will finish the painting, ready to take home and frame, before a live auction of one of Vic’s limited edition prints - which will be personalised - the proceeds of which along with the 40% of the workshop fee, will be donated to the WHF for big cat conservation projects.
Medium: Pastel on velour paper
