Course programme

Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand:

  • the roles and responsibilities of the designated premises supervisor
  • the licensable activities carried out in licensed premises
  • the requirements of legislation and best practice to support the four licensing objectives how to conduct a risk assessment, and how it is used to underpin the operating schedule
  • the relationship between the operating schedule and management controls.

To achieve the BIIAB National Certificate for Designated Premises Supervisor candidates are firstly required to have achieved the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders or possess equivalent knowledge. They must then attend a 1 day course concluding with a short exam of 30 multiple choice Questions to be answered in 30 minutes.
