Description:
This course is designed to relate biology to important aspects of modern life including those of a personal, social and environmental nature. The structure of the course is similar to that in A level biology. First year units include a study of molecules, cells, transport and reproduction. However, in some topics such as transport the emphasis is specifically on human systems. Second year topics include respiration, coordination, biodiversity, genetics and human evolution. Practical investigations contribute 15% of the total mark.
