Course programme
This course is intended for anyone who is seeking a first qualification in manual book-keeping and accounts.It aims to provide learners with a basic knowledge of the subject.
The aim of the qualification is to provide candidates with an introduction to book-keeping practices and to process source documents that underpin accurate record keeping.
What modules are covered?Ø know how to complete financial documents
Ø record cash and credit transactions in books of original entry
Ø prepare bank reconciliation
Ø understand the petty cash imprest system
Ø extract a trial balance from ledger accounts.
Book-keeping and Accounts Level 1 College Certificate
How will I be assessed?At the end of 9 weeks study you will take a City & Guilds exam paper. The fee for this is included in the course fee.

What are the entry requirements?Minimum qualifications:
No prior knowledge is required.
What else do I need to know?Method of StudyPractical exercises.
The course is 9 weeks long, in the 10th week you will complete a City and Guilds Level 1 exam.
The bookkeeping courses will run providing we have a sufficient number of students.
What can I do after this course?Students who are successful in the examinations would be qualified to fulfil a junior role in an accounts office.
