The aim of the qualification is to further develop the introductory book-keeping practices and processes studied at Level 1, to enable candidates to adjust ledger accounts, to take account of activities at the trial balance date which affect the production of an accurate trading, profit and loss account and balance sheet.

What modules are covered?

There are seven learning outcomes to this qualification.  At the end of the course the learner will be able to:

 

Ø       prepare ledger accounts

Ø       prepare control accounts

Ø       correct errors in business accounts

Ø       differentiate between capital and revenue expenditure

Ø       record depreciation

Ø       make year end adjustments in business accounts

Ø       prepare and complete a trial balance.

What qualifications will I get?

CGLI Level 2 Book-keeping & Accounts

How will I be assessed?

At the end of 9 weeks of study you will complete a  City & Guilds Level 2 examination. You will be assessed by a 2 hour question paper, which will be externally marked.

What are the entry requirements?

Minimum qualifications: Level 1

Learners should have already achieved the City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Book-keeping and Accounts. Knowledge of Level 1 will be expected in order to attend this course.
