Book keeping level 2 Introduction
This workshop is for those who want to develop their basic book-keeping skills beyond the day-to-day recording of transactions to increase their knowledge of the accounting system and how it forms the basis of financial reporting.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course you will be able to:
  • Understand basic financial terminology and concepts
  • Record simple double-entry financial transactions in the ledgers
  • Record period end adjustments for accruals and prepayments
  • Balance off ledger accounts at the end of an accounting period
  • Prepare a Trial balance report
  • Checking for and finding errors in the Trail balance
Introduction to basic financial accounting terminology and concepts
 
Recording different types of transactions including cash and credit sale, purchases and expenditures
 
Accounting for accruals
 
Accounting for prepayments
 
Other accounting adjustments required at the end of the accounting period
