Course Overview
This course will provide you with the basic skills needed to â€OEbuild†a career in Bricklaying.

The course acts as a good introduction to the trade and will give you the opportunity to develop the skills you will need to progress to the Level 2 Diploma, and possible employment.
The course will appeal to school leavers or mature students with little or no experience in bricklaying, but with an interest in pursuing a career in the trade.

Course Structure
This is a one year course delivered at Hornet Close Brickwork Department with attendance at college for 2 days a week

Course content to include:
  • Health & safety
  • Storing & Mixing Materials
  • Basic building of brick walls
  • Calculating quantities
  • Theory of the subject area
  • Essential Skills


Qualification Aims
Successful candidates will achieve the Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying

Candidates may then be able to progress onto the Level 2 Diploma (or NVQ L2 if they find employment)

Tuition Fees -£495

Tuition is free to those aged 16-18 years. Free tuition is also available to those in receipt of certain benefits, or to their unwaged dependants.
