Course Overview
This course is designed for those who have already achieved the Diploma Level 2 (or NVQ Level 2) in Bricklaying, and wish to progress onto the nationally recognised advanced level course, to gain the skills which can lead to a wide range of career or management opportunities within the trade.

Course Structure
The programme is delivered over one year and attendance will be 1 day per week at our Hornet Close site.
Topics covered will include:
  • Establishing the operational area
  • Progression of operations
  • Organisation of resources
  • Erect complex masonry structures
  • Complex masonry details


Qualification Aims
Successful students will achieve the Bricklaying Diploma Level 3.
(Those who gain employment in the industry can also collect site evidence towards the NVQ Level 3)
Progression is then possible on to a GNVQ in the Built Environment, Higher Education HNC or degree.

Assessments/Examinations
There will be continuous assessment throughout the course, to include practical assessments including self assessment and job knowledge questions.
A CSCS Health & Safety test pass (external exam) is also required.

Cost / Equipment
Tuition fee£635 (including registration & certification)

Free tuition is available to those in receipt of certain benefits or to their unwaged dependants.
Equipment costs£35 to cover the following:
  • Text books
  • Stationery

Students will also need to provide the following:
  • Protective gloves
  • Steel toecap boots
