What will I study?
The NVQ is made up of 5 mandatory units and a choice of optional units. You will be required to demonstrate competency via assessment in the workplace or in college undertaking specific tasks. You will also be required to demonstrate the relevant level of understanding to support your practical skills.

Conform to Efficient Working Practices
Move and Handle Resources
Erect masonry structures
Set out masonry structures
Optional Units: (any 1 of the following)
Erect Masonry Cladding
Lay Domestic Drainage
Erect Thin Joint Structures
Place and Finish Non-Specialist Concrete
Plaster and Render Surfaces
Maintain Slate and Tile Roofing
How will I learn?
Your individual learning plan will help you learn in a way that bests suits your needs. You will agree a work programme with your tutor, which will include the setting of individually assessed tasks.
How will I be assessed?
Progressive assessments of all course elements are carried out on an individual basis on site and in college. Assessment will be cairried out by your college assessor or your nominated work based recorder. All assessments contribute towards course units, which will build into certification
Where could it lead?
The course will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to progress onto an NVQ Level 3 in Trowel Occupations subject to an interview on completion of Level 2.
