Suitable for: Is Level 1 Foundation Learning in Basic Construction Skills right for me? Foundation Learning is for young people who want to gain their first qualification in a construction trade. Whilst you are on the course we will give you the skills needed in order to get employment. We will provide your tools and materials and costs towards travelling to and from the centre.

Course programme

Learners are taught the basics in bricklaying covering the following units:

  • 006– Introducing levelling in construction
  • 009– Introducing brickwork skills
  • 111– Developing Quoin skills
  • 116- Developing blockwork skills
  • 205– Using Datums

Learners will achieve a greater understanding of brickwork and construction with an opportunity to move on to our Level 2 Bricklaying course.
