It has always been recognised that an understanding of Economics is necessary for mastery of the worlds of Accounting, Business and Finance. In today’s business climate knowledge of Information Systems has become increasingly prized. The degree programmes in Economics with Applied Computing, with entries in January and September each year, aim to give students the opportunity to develop expertise in these two key areas. The ability to control and manipulate knowledge and information effectively is becoming ever more critical for the modern organisation. Today’s economies are increasingly knowledge and information economies. Designing and building efficient and innovative computer systems requires up-to-date knowledge of information and communications technologies at an advanced level. Those trained in these areas will maintain a crucial advantage in the work environment.
