BTEC Diploma in Art and Design Level 1

This course will give you an exciting introduction to art, design and craft. You will develop your skills and ideas in a range of materials, techniques and processes. You will also develop your skills in English and maths.

On the course you will:

• create a portfolio of practical work,
• visit galleries, museums and places of interest,
• exhibit work in public exhibitions,
• be involved in competitions and live projects,
• be involved in enterprise activities.

You will develop your skills in:

You will study the following units:

• Explore two dimensions,
• Discover three dimensions,
• A project in two or three dimensions,
• Explore drawing,
• Explore painting,
• Explore printmaking,
• Explore mixed media,
• Explore and create surface relief,
• A personal project,
• Explore 3D design crafts.

Entry Requirements

• A minimum of four GCSEs grade E or above, including English language, and maths at grade F or above, or
• an entry level 3 qualification, entry level 3 English and maths at entry level 2, and
• a genuine interest in art and design.
