Entry qualifications
4 GCSEs Grade C or above, or equivalent plus portfolio of artwork.

What you will do
· Drawing and design skills
· Ideas generation and creative thinking
· Use of a range of digital video and computer equipment
· Experience working on a 'live' brief
· Develop research skills and contextual understanding

Multimedia pathway
· New media technologies (web design)
· Traditional animation techniques (claymation, pixilation)
· Computer animation (2D and 3D)
· Interactive design
· Games design

Media pathway
· Experience directing, producing, editing, camera work, scriptwriting, lighting and sound
· Use a wide range of Television and Video equipment
· Experiment with media installations

Assessment
All units will be internally assessed, with some units being verified through National Standard Sampling by the Awarding Body.

Additional studies
Key skills in:
· Communication
· Application of Number

The course is complemented with AS Photography in the 1st year. This can be converted to A2 qualification in the 2nd year (subject to agreed criteria of achievement).

What can I do next?
The course will allow students to progress onto a Degree, Foundation Degree BTEC HND programmes or, alternatively, into their chosen industry:
· Television and video production
· Audio production
· Web design, On-line media
· Animation industries

Successful completion of the course will enable students to take part in the College Compact arrangement to progress to higher level courses within the college.
