Materials: Students will probably need access to a mobile phone and a 1Gb memory stick. You will need to buy a textbook and be prepared to go on a selection of visits.

What can I progress to?
Merit grade would enable progression to Advanced Level courses such as BTEC National.

What is the course about?
The course will be composed of two core units and four specialist units:
·Using ICT to present information (Unit 1)
·Introduction to Computer Systems (Unit 2)
·Core ICT Hardware (CompTIA)(Unit 22)
·Website Design (Unit 4)
·CompTIA Essentials (Unit 23)
·Numerical Application (Unit 11)
Students also undertake a BTEC course in Employability Skills and a literacy course as necessary.

What are the course outcomes?
Successful students will achieve the full BTEC First Diploma in ICT at either Pass, Merit or Distinction Level.
