BTEC First Diploma Art & Design

The BTEC First Diploma in Art & Design is a one year programme designed to provide you with a broad range of experiences in Art,Craft and Design studies.
This exciting programme allows you the freedom to explore a range of disciplines working on both 2D and 3D Media.
Successful completion will insure your progression onto related Art & Design programmes
Entry Requirements3 GCSE's grade A - D preferably at least one in Art but not essential.
Course Content
You will study a broad range at Art & Design disciplines including 3D Design, Visual studies, Textiles, Print, Illustration, Photography and Contextual studies.
You will produce work in response to project briefs and will be given regular feedback about your work and progress on the course.
How will I be assessed?
The programme consists of four core units and two specialist units. You will need to complete all six for the full qualification.
Assessment takes place throughout the year with your coursework. Your work is assessed on a Pass, Merit or Distinction basis. Successful completion of the course will give you a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification in Art & Design and will allow entry to the advanced Level 3 programmes.
You will receive certificates from Edexcel.
