You will need at least 4 GCSEs in the C-E range, preferably to include two at grade C or above or an appropriate Level 1 qualification such as an Introductory Diploma in IT@Work at Merit grade or above. In addition you will need to have a successful course interview and a keen interest in computing.
BTEC First Diploma
The BTEC First Diploma IT Practitioners is designed to offer you a
wide range of theoretical and practical computing skills that are matched to the needs of modern industry and business. It also provides a dynamic pathway to further study and employment.
The topics you will study include:
· Web development
· PC hardware and software installation
· Computer systems.
You will be given the opportunity to achieve additional qualifications alongside your main course.
You will also have the opportunity to further develop your literacy skills.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed continually during the course through project
work, assignments, practical tests and presentations.
