Who is the course for?
This course would appeal to you if you have a keen interest in computers and their applications in today's information society.

This qualification would be appropriate if you are considering a job in the world of business and computing.

What is the course about?
This is a practical, work-related course, you will learn by completing projects and assignments. It introduces you to basic computer systems; you will prepare presentations and assignments using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and be introduced to databases. The Cisco IT Essentials course is embedded into the qualification which is a professionally recognised certificate. The IT Essentials course is mapped to the CompTIA A+ mandatory exam which is the industry standard IT technical qualification.

Will I need anything else?
No specialist equipment is required, but it is recommended that you have a pendrive.

How long & often do I attend?
It is a one year course which you are required to attend throughout the week for approximately 15 hours.

How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed, and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.

What opportunities will this lead to?
With further training or study, you could go into careers such as:

User Support Technician;or
Trainee IT Support Officer or Technician.
