BTEC HIGHER NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE

Who is this course for?

This course with a newly designed syllabus provides a Higher Education qualification on a part-time basis for adults interested in career progression in the care sector. It is also an excellent qualification for those interested in pursuing Higher Education professional qualifications such as Nursing or Social Work.

Ideally students who enrol should have work experience in the care sector. However students can be provided with relevant work placement to enhance their skills and knowledge.

How long is this course for?
2 years part time
What will I study?
Subjects covered include:
  • Communicating in Health and Social Care
  • Working in Partnership
  • Understanding Abuse
  • Principles of Practice
  • Psychology for Health and Social Care
  • Counselling Skills Development and Practice

Attendance Part Time
How will I be assessed? Students will be assessed in five modules of study each year. Assessment will include assignment work, case studies, recorded skills assessment and class based examinations.
What can I do after the course?
