BTEC Introductory Certificate in Skills for Working Life
If you have not achieved many qualifications and need extra help to learn, this could be the course for you! There are no entry qualifications- you just need to be prepared to work hard, get involved and willing to try new things.

What does the course consist of?
Will I get help to do my work?

The course is designed for young people with few or no formal qualifications so there is plenty of help and support available (both in lessons and outside of class).
There is a minimum of one teacher and two Learning Support Assistants in every lesson so that individual support can be provided promptly. We work closely with parents and carers to ensure students are given support when things get tough!

What else do I need to know?
What will I be able to do when I've completed the course?

A major aim of the course is to prepare you for a job. This means we get you to look at your own skills, your job interests and other training you might need in the future. Most of the students on this course will go onto further vocational training in an area they are interested in.
As part of the course you will have an in-depth careers assessment, an opportunity to do work experience and you will carry out a review at the end of the year which will help you plan the next step of your career.
