INTRODUCTION
This is a work related qualification designed to help you progress on to an Intermediate level course. The course aims to give a broad based introduction to your chosen career by giving you the confidence and skills to explore a wide range of themes and media.
The BTEC Introductory course is equivalent to four grades D-G at GCSE.
CONTENT
You will study six units to gain this award:
· Explore Visual Language in Art, Design & Media
· Explore Materials, Techniques & Processes in Art, Design & Media
· Explore & Develop Art, Design & Media Ideas
· Carrying out a Personal Project in Art, Design or Media
· Introduction to 2D
· Introduction to 3D Design Crafts
You will be set projects based on a range of different themes including an externally set brief that will cover the assessment criteria for each unit. The projects will develop your skills in drawing and painting, metal work, ceramics and surface decoration.
ASSESSMENT & METHODS OF STUDY
