Study Method:
There are various methods of study on this course that include classroom sessions, project work, discussion groups, practical work experience placements and visits.
Duration :One-year course. Full-time programme.
Who the Course is For:
Applications are welcomed from those who are considering careers working with children, the elderly or disabled. This programme is more appropriate for students aged between 16 and 18 years of age.
It is an initial qualification to lead you into following a career in the caring services.
Assessment:
You will produce a portfolio of work that is assessed by a range of methods, which may include projects, assignments, case studies and coursework.
Students are allocated a Personal Coach who will provide support and guidance at regular intervals during the course.
Course Leads To:
A BTEC Introductory Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs grade D-G.
This qualification will help you to go onto a higher level qualification such as the BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care (Level 2) or the CACHE Certificate, or you can go into work.
To progress to the BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care you must acheive an overall Merit on the Introductory Diploma.
