Description of the Course
This is a level one course ideally suited for school leavers who are interested in developing the personal skills and qualities needed to work in the sports industry.
Course content
All students study the following units:

· Starting work in sport and leisure
· Working in sport and leisure
· The healthy body
· Personal effectiveness
· Financial management
· Organising a sport or leisure event
· Taking part in sport
· Issues in sport and leisure

Assessment
Students are required to complete a portfolio (file) containing evidence of assignments, presentations, group exercises and practical work.
Entry requirements
An entry level qualification and/or a minimum of 2 GCSEs at grades E and above (English essential). A keen interest in sport and leisure is also essential.
What can I do after this course?
Students may progress onto a level 2 qualification in sport or into employment in the sport and leisure industry.
