As with many security related courses with the introduction of the SIA, it has formally given those within the industry a formal qualification, this is also the case within the CCTV sector, CCTV Training is not only an essential element for those monitoring public space using CCTV equipment, it can also lead to large savings for any company that has CCTV in Operation. The ability for a CCTV Operator to follow correct procedures whilst remaining within the Law is an essential factor in safeguarding the public and also successful identification and prosecution off criminals whilst working within the Data Protection Act 1998.
Who is the course for? For those currently working as, or wishing to begin work as, a CCTV Operator. On successful completion of the CCTV Training course, and passing the required examinations, delegates will be able to apply for an SIA licence to as a CCTV Operator.
What are the entry requirements? There are none; however candidates should have the basic levels of English literacy and numeracy.
How long is the course? The course is usually delivered over 4 consecutive days (Tues to Fri). We also hold courses at weekends depending on demand.
What does the course involve? Delegates must complete and pass both units 1 and 2 as outlined below. Success will achieve a level 2 award in CCTV operations and allow delegates to apply for their SIA licence. The course requires you to undertake the role of a CCTV operator where you will track, log and report activities on a suspect or activity.
