At the end of the course there are two main avenues of progression; further study in Higher Education be it a degree or HND or employment in the industry.


This BTEC qualification is unit based and requires you to undertake a total of 18 full units. The course is structured around projects, such as making an advertisement, shooting a music video, producing a drama. Through these projects you will be tested against the requirements of those units, those remaining units will be tested through presentations or written assignments.
The College has a good range of high definition cameras ranging from small hand held units to professional ENG ones. As part of the camera kit we include tripods. As you are expected to capture high quality sound we have a range of microphones from boom and radio mics along with quality audio recorders. Furthermore there are a number of portable lighting set with reflectors.
Students on this course have access to the TV studio and the green screen room.
Year 1 course = 90 credit Diploma
Year 2 course = a further 90 credits providing in total a 180 credit Extended Diploma
