Programme outline
This 1 year, intensive Level 3 course is equivalent to 2 A levels. It will give you a secure foundation and insight into the wider performing arts sector and an introduction to circus skills. The course is run in partnership with the National Centre for Circus Arts. The majority of your learning (75%) will take place at the Hackney Community College campus. The National Centre for Circus Arts is responsible for running 6 circus modules over the year at their training space. To support your training, you will have access to extra enrichment activities and after hours fitness classes at the National Centre. Gym and fitness sessions will also be available at Hackney Community College.

How much will it cost?
Don’t worry about the cost of learning! We can help and advise you.
For 16-18 year-olds, your tuition will be free and you may be able to get discounted travel with Transport for London student travel cards.
19+: Adults on many courses are eligible for Government funding for some or all of the fee. Adults aged 19-23 are eligible for Government funding up to and including their first full level 3 qualification, and after that they may access an Advanced Learner Loan to cover tuition fees if the course is loan-fundable. Adults aged 24+ on a level 3+ course may take out an Advanced Learner Loan to cover tuition fees if the course is loan-fundable. If you do need to pay a fee, the College offers a number of ways to pay and can also advise you about financial support available to you.

Support for you
Before you start your lessons at college, you’ll take part in induction sessions, where you’ll meet other students and find out all about the support that’s available to you. This includes learning about the college’s Virtual Learning Environment, tutorials and the campus facilities. All students can receive free, confidential and impartial advice on things like: your next step in education or your career, finance, housing, health, immigration, benefit claims, legal problems, personal / emotional concerns and other issues.
