Suitable for: Managers, supervisors, and those with responsibility for educating others in the moving and handling of people within the health or social care sector. Also suitable for people with responsibility for training and educating others in the theory and practice of saver moving and handling of people.

About this course
Experience in moving and handling people. Previous training experience or the ability to take on a training role.
A list of related publications will be provided with joining instructions. The course includes a practical session. Delegates who are pregnant/new mothers or have any physical condition are at a higher risk and should not take part.

Course aims:
The course will provide you with:
- Knowledge and skills to move people in a safe and dignified way, which is linked to legislation and best practice guidance
- Identify and plan for emergency situations
- skills to teach induction and mandatory training within your organisation based on current best practice and legislation.
BACK-TRACK device
The course also uses a motion-sensor, which enchances delegates learning experience. The device is a small clip, worn on the belt to detect, monitor and record motions.
Course duration and asssessment
The course entails two distance learning units and then 4 days face to face delivery. You will also need to submit a final assessment based on your own organisation.
Once you have completed you will be awarded a BTEC Safer People Handling Trainers certificate, valid for three years.
