Course Description
It has been widely recognised that there is a skills gap in the rapidly developing technological and professional roles of the Construction industry.

If this is the area of employment you wish to move into, or are currently employed in, and you would like to gain a specialist work-related qualification that gives you (the learner) the knowledge, understanding and skills that you need to prepare you for employment or progression within the construction area, the BTEC National route is an ideal choice.
This Nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification focuses on the needs of the construction industry and can also provide the underpinning knowledge requirements for an NVQ in Construction and the Built Environment.

· Planning, Organisation and Control of Resources

· Measuring, Tendering and Estimating Processes
· Surveying Processes

A variety of assessment methods are used to ensure effective learning has taken place. All assessments are assignment based and build on construction applications. Grading criteria is scaled from Pass, Merit or Distinction.

On Completion
For those wishing to continue on the academic route, opportunities for progression exist that offer a direct path to Higher Education, e.g. HNC/D or Foundation Degree programmes currently offered at the University.
