Who is this course for?

If you have achieved any of the following and want to gain a qualification equivalent to one 'A' Levels, then this course is for you:

• Four GCSEs grade C and above
• First Diploma or Certificate
• Intermediate GNVQ
• NVQ Level 2
• Leaving Certificate

How long is this course for?

2 years part-time or can be combined with 2 'A' Levels to make a full time course.

What will I study?
The BTEC National Award in Media Production consists of three core units and three other specialist units.

Core units

• Research Techniques for the Media Industries
• Pre-Production Techniques for the Media Industries
• Understanding the Print-based Industries

Specialist units may include:

• Digital Graphics for Print
• Page Layout and Design
• Photography and Photographic Practice

How will I be assessed?
You will be internally assessed on each unit through various assignments. There are no external examinations.

What can I do after the course?

You can use this qualification as a stepping stone to progress to the HND in Interactive Media (Banbridge Campus), NVQ 4 in Writing for Newspapers (Banbridge Campus) or Degree programmes in Media or Design related studies.
