About this course
- 5 GCSE's at grade C or above including Maths or English and a Science.

What is the BTEC National Award in Sport?
You will study 6 units over two years covering a range of topics. These will be:-
- Unit 1 Body in Action - year 1
- Unit 2 Health and Safety in Sport- year 2
- Unit 3 Training and Fitness for Sport- year 2
- Unit 6 Fitness testing for Sport and Exercise - year 1
- Unit 12 Leadership in Sport - year 2
- Unit 25 Work Experience - year 1
The Award is equivalent to one A level and carries a maximum of 120 UCAS points.
Is BTEC National Award in Sport suitable for me?
The award is suitable for students who enjoy sport but do not want to specialise totally in one area. You will need to have an enthusiasm for sport, both theoretically and practically, and an interest in the broader aspects of sport and leisure.

How will I learn?
There are no exams on this course and it comprises of 100% coursework. Assignments will be based on realistic workplace situations. You will also have the opportunity to be assessed on your own personal performance within a team sport.
You will be taught by specialist teachers in classrooms in the Sports with access to the Sports Hall, Fitness Room and Playing Field.
How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed internally by your teachers and then moderated by the board. There are NO exams. Your work will be graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. Pass gives you 40 UCAS points, Merit gives you 80 and Distinction gives you 120.
Course costs
You will be expected to pay for course materials. In addition you will need to pay for a CRB check, if you have not already had one.
