:ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
  • You should be at least aged 16 by 31 December in the year of entry to the course
  • Entry to level 3 is dependent upon interview
  • You should have a relevant Level 2 qualification or five grade C's at GCSE, one of which must be English language
  • If you are over 21 years without standard entry qualifications, but with suitable work experience, literacy and IT skills you are welcome to apply
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course should be your choice if you:
  • Would like work in an office environment
  • Would like to widen your career opportunities to include the provision of administrative support to a wide range of business types
  • Wish to achieve an administrative qualification allowing you to progress to a higher level of education
  • Wish to top-up current level 3 qualifications, such as A-levels, in order to progress to higher education

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Year one of the BTEC National Certificate in Business Administration is made up of six units:

Unit 2 Understanding Legal Aspects of Administration Unit 28 Supporting Projects

Unit 3 Exploring Business Activity Unit 19 Exploring Team Development

Unit 4 Investigating Business Resources Unit 16 Human Resource Management

Unit 5 Introduction to Marketing Unit 5 Intro to Accountancy

Unit 6 Effective People, Communication and Information Unit 14 Understanding Aspects of Employment Law

All units will employ both vocational and academic skills, meaning you will have a mix of both practical and theoretical experience.

HOW WILL I LEARN?
The course is made up of a series of internal assessments and assignments, which are graded on a pass, merit, distinction or refer basis. In order to complete the qualification you must pass all 6 units. As a result of successful completion of the course you will receive a BTEC National Certificate in Business Administration which will also give you up to 240 UCAS points; this is dependant upon your overall grade.

WHAT CAN THIS COURSE LEAD TO?
The BTEC National Certificate in Business Administration is a qualification that encompasses a wide range of administrative functions and activities at an operational and supervisory level.

If you wish to only complete one year of the course then you will be awarded a BTEC National Award in Business which equivalent to one A-Level in comparison to the BTEC National Certificate which is Equivalent to two A-Levels.

By the end of the course you will possess an excellent level of administrative expertise. Such skills provide a high level of employability, both here and abroad, across a range of organisations, large and small. Upon satisfactory completion you may wish to continue your studies and proceed onto a HND in Business.
