Applicants should have a level 2 qualification in English or have the ability to produce lengthy word-processed documents. We will talk to all applicants about their suitability on an individual basis.

Summary
This course is appropriate for those who want a general qualification in business that gives them the opportunity to explore a variety of business elements. It may be that you wish to progress into management and have not had the opportunity to explore sufficient aspects of business to be confident; or if you are in a management position but do not have experience of all the areas of your workplace. This certificate provides an excellent overview of the most important aspects of business management.
About the Course
The course meets twice a week - one evening will be spent on assignment writing.
There are 4 core units of study:
* Exploring Business Activity
* Investigating Business Resources
* Introduction to Marketing
* Effective People, Communication and Information
There are also 4 specialist management units:
* Improving Performance in the Workplace
* Management of an Event
* Exploring Team Development
* Managing Physical Resources
You will also study 4 additional units from the following:
* Introducing Management Accounting
* An Introduction to Marketing Research
* Understanding Relationship Marketing
* Understanding Aspects of Employment Law
* Managing Business Information
* Starting a Small Business
Depending on student demand, additional units can be studied to take into account individual needs.

There are no examinations on this course. It is assessed through assignment (word-processed) only.
