About this course
Applicants will be expected to have at least a BTEC First Diploma in Engineering or 4 GCSE passes at grade C including Maths/Science/English. The BTEC Nationals in Electrical/Electronic Engineering have been developed in the engineering sector to focus on; i) education and training for employees in the electrical and electronic engineering sectors; ii) providing opportunities for employees in the electrical and electronic engineering sectors to achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 vocationally specific qualification; iii) giving learners the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification to enter employment in the engineering sector or to progress to higher education i.e BTEC Higher National in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; iv) giving learners the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.

The BTEC National Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering consist of five mandatory core units plus six specialist units.

Assessment procedure:
This course is assessed using a mixture of coursework assignments and projects.
The qualification is equivalent to 2 A Levels.
