BTEC National Certificate in Hairdressing
The BTEC Nationals in Hairdressing are designed to equip learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in current and future employment or for progression to courses such as BTEC Higher Nationals or degrees. These transferrable skills will enable learners to meet changing circumstances, whether these arise from a shift in their own sphere of employment, promotion to supervisory or management roles or from the changing needs of the hairdressing industry.

The BTEC National Certificate in Hairdressing is a 12 unit national qualification comprising seven core units and five specialist units

Who is this course for?
Candidates must be aged 16 or over and hold one of the following:

- an NVQ at level 2 or 3 in an appropriate vocational area
- 4 GCSEs at grade C or above
- a BTEC First qualification in a related vocational area
- related work experience
