Study Method:
There are various methods of study on this course that include classroom sessions, project work, discussion groups, practical work experience placements and visits.
Duration :Two-year course. Full-time programme.
Who the Course is For:
Applications are welcome from those wishing to pursue a career in the caring professions e.g. children, young people, elderly and disabled.
Assessment:
You will produce a portfolio of work that is assessed by a range of methods, which may include projects, assignments, case studies and coursework.
Students are allocated a Personal Coach tutor who will provide support and guidance at regular intervals during the course.
Course Leads To:
The BTEC National Certificate in Health and Social Care is equivalent to 2 A levels.
In order to be considered for Higher Education i.e. for a diploma or degree course you will need to aim for an overall Merit or Distinction each year of the BTEC course.
Successful achievment of this course could provide entrance to several Access programmes, such as Access to Health Studies, Nursing and Midwifery.
