About this course
You need to be at least 16 years of age. You should have obtained at least four GCSE passes at C Grade or better or have successfully completed a GNVQ Intermediate or BTEC First Diploma course. Students completing a second year Craft level 2 course may also be eligible. Candidates aged 19+ who do not have these qualifications but can demonstrate an interest in, and commitment to, the Hospitality and Catering Industry may also apply. All applicants will be interviewed.

Course structure:
The course normally takes up to 2 years of full-time study to complete. This Edexcel Level 3 course of study in Hospitality and Catering is for people who wish to follow careers in one of the many areas associated with the hospitality and catering industry. They include: hotels, restaurants, hospitals, shipping, educational establishments and social care establishments.
Assessment procedure:
12 Units will be assessed by internally set assignments. Candidates will be awarded overall gradings of Pass, Merit, or Distinction.
Entry requirements:
You need to be at least 16 years of age.
You should have obtained at least four GCSE passes at C Grade or better or have successfully completed a GNVQ Intermediate or BTEC First Diploma course.

Progression opportunities:
This qualification helps you to go onto higher level qualifications such as BTEC Higher National Diploma or a Degree, or you can go straight into work. It prepares you for a range of junior management jobs.
