The level 3 BTEC Certificate in Hospitality is intended for learners who want a broad-based vocational preparation for employment in the hospitality industry at a supervisory/management level.

The coverage is designed to be of a standard broadly equivalent to 2 GCE 'A' Levels and provides a suitable preparation for higher education.

In addition, you will study the following qualifications:

NVQ1 Multiskills

NVQ2 Food and Drink service

CIEH Level 2 Food Safety and

CIEH Award in Healthier Food & Special Diets

Additionality

Key skills in Communications, Application of Number or IT.

All students require protective clothing and equipment, new students will be sent an order form prior to the staff of the course.

Work experience in both years.

Delivery

The course is delivered over 2 years and includes a work placement of approximately three weeks in each year and a European study tour, costing approx. £300.

Assessment

Continuous internal assessment of assignment/project work and practical skills throughout the course.

CIEH additional qualification - 30 multi choice question exam.

Practical assessment on Work Placement.

Progression

A BTEC National Certificate offers direct progression onto an honours or foundation degree programme.

Possible careers

Trainee management position in a variety of hospitality roles, such as food beverage, front of house, accommodation services or conference and event management.

Payment options: Approx £250 Uniform & Text books. A one-off annual Access Payment of £10 is payable by all students.
