Animal health and welfare, animal behavioural patterns., the breeding and nursing of animals , the management of farm livestock ,Business management, practical animal husbandry and carrying out an investigative project. Personal, communication, numeracy and IT skills will be developed. Work experience is a mandatory requirement of this course and so learners must be prepared to travel independently to placement in Luton and the surrounding areas. Learners must be able to time manage effectively, meeting deadlines. This qualification is split into Award/Certificate/Diploma with the Award and Certificate building towards the Diploma Level 3. It is expected that most learners will progress through the Award and Certificate to complete the Diploma to practice in the professional field of Animal Care.
