About this course

The course is equivalent to 3 A levels and is open to applicants who have four GCSE subjects at grade C or above. One of these should be in Art and Design or a related subject such as Design Technology. Applicants may alternatively have completed a BTEC First Diploma course in Art & Design. It is sometimes possible to modify these entry requirements for individual students, mature applicants, or those offering work-related experience as an alternative entry qualification if it is considered that they will benefit fully from the course. We will interview all applicants and you will be asked to bring a portfolio of recent art and design work with you. We also set a standard drawing project which is seen at interview. Interviewing staff will help you to decide if this is the right course for you to follow. This course fits into the block timetable and students will be expected to take one other subject to AS level or as a GCSE resit.
