This course provides a stimulating vocational combination of Fashion and Creative Textile. Design and Garment Construction. In the first year students gain underpinning knowledge in Fashion Design, Clothing Construction, Pattern Cutting and Fashion Drawing. Students are also engaged in textile surface design using constructed techniques such as machine embroidery and embellishment.

This course provides a stimulating vocational combination of Fashion and Creative Textile
Design and Garment Construction. In the first year students gain underpinning knowledge in Fashion Design, Clothing Construction, Pattern Cutting and Fashion Drawing. Students are also
engaged in textile surface design using constructed techniques such as machine embroidery and embellishment . Historical, Contextual Studies and Visual Studies provide a backdrop to the practical curriculum.
Professional design staff work with students to enable them to develop their individual creative ability. The students are supported throughout the course with a tutorial system.
The second year is project based, where the students are encouraged to work to a professional level, preparing for work in industry or application to HE. A European trip, visits to industry and galleries/museums will be arranged.
a) BA or Foundation Degree in Fashion Design or related specialism.
b) Employment in fashion trade, junior designer.
