You will learn about the practical skills needed in business. The course is made up of eighteen units; four core units provide a general foundation and fourteen specialist units introduce learners to particular topics in more depth

What will I be doing?
The course is made up of a mixture of core units and specialist units.
The core units are:

• Exploring Business Activity
• Investigating business resources
• Introduction to marketing
• Effective people, communication and Information

Specialist units (subject to changes)

• Introduction to accounting
• Business and the Economic environment
• Human Resources Management
• Aspects of Contract & business law
• Starting a small business
• Website production & management
• Managing a Business Event
• E-business & Internet marketing
• Business Ethics
• Effective retailing

How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be through coursework and you will need to produce a portfolio of work for each of the units. All units are internally set, assessed and graded by teachers. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded to all learners who successfully complete all units. Grades awarded are Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Where can I go after completing this course?
After the successful completion of the course you will be able to progress on to University to study a course in the area of business or take up employment within various businesses where there are a wide range of opportunities.
