Study of art and design practice in year one covers: drawing and painting; fashion and textiles; three-dimensional design; sculpture; photography; art and design history; . Specialist pathways include:
Three-dimensional Design and Interior Design: Introduces materials and processes within three-dimensional design including clay, plaster, wood, metals and plastics.
Fashion, Clothing & Textiles: Introduces garment manufacture, design and illustration for fashion, art and design history, history of fashion, fashion styling and promotion.
Fine Art: Introduces principles of fine art, painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, public art and time-based art. Underpinning skills include ideas generation, critical and contextual studies

Progression / Leads to
HND/degrees including fine art, three-dimensional design, textiles, and fashion. Potential careers include interior design, textile design, fashion, photography, product design and fine arts.
