What is this course about? A BTEC National Diploma is a practical, work-related course. What do I need to get on the course?

BTEC First Diploma with a merit or distinction and key skills at Level 2

What will I study? You will study core units and additional units that will contribute towards the assessed final major project.
All students take the four core units:

· Understanding the Media

Research Techniques

· Media Skills Workshop

· Professional Practice in the Media Industry

You take all four specialist units from this list:

· Production Management

· Professional Brief

· Multimedia Practices

· Digital Graphics

You can then choose 10 additional units from this specialist list::

· Designing Graphics and Idents for Screens

· Animating Images

· Digital Writing

· Digital Imaging

· Web Graphics

· Web Authoring

· Web Animation

· Video in Multimedia

· Sound in Multimedia

· Motion Graphics and Compositing Video

· Multimedia Authoring

· 3D Modelling

· 3D Animation

· 3D Environments

These units contribute towards the assessed Final Major Project (FMP). ,

What qualification will I get? BTEC National Diploma in Media (e-Media)

What can I do after the course? BTEC National Diplomas are valued by employers and higher education (universities and colleges). On successful completion, you can progress directly into employment in many of the creative industry media areas. Or, you could progress to an honours degree or our Foundation Degree in Digital Media.
