Course Description
The Diploma is a new qualification that offers a unique mix of traditional and work-relevant learning. In collaboration with employers and higher education, the Diploma provides learners with essential skills and experience through applied learning.Your study on this course involves completing 6 units that combine various media skills and techniques inclusive in areas of research, design, pre/post production and evaluation. Two specialist routes can also be followed (traditional & interactive).

Entry Requirements
At least 5 GCSEs at Grade C, one of which must be English. Or Level 2 skills/craft qualification (eg NVQ 2 or relevant work experience).

Awarding Body: EDEXCEL

Duration: 2 years

Attendance Modes: Day

Assessment: Assessed through four major projects over the course of the two years. Continual assessment through on-going portfolio work. You may have to produce a promotional music video for a local band and carry out all aspects of the three stages of production.

Progression Routes: Animator, Broadcast Engineer (Operational), Broadcast Journalist, Film/Video Editor, Floor Manager, Lighting Technician, Broadcasting/Film/Video Location Manager, Runner, Broadcasting/Film/Video Television Camera Operator, Television/Film/Video Producer.
