If you are aged 16-18 and study on a full-time, further education programme then your course is free.
If you are over 18 then grants and loans may be available to help towards course fees.
Is it for me?
Yes, if you want to pursue a career in film, TV, corporate film production advertising, or public relations. Previous students also go on to higher education at degree level.
This is a 2 year full time course.
If you enrol on this course starting in September 2007, you will be one of the first students to study in our fantastic £37 million Baltic campus on the quayside.

What will I study?
The course comprises of a range of core and specialist units. The core units cover the vital skills and knowledge associated with working in the Media industry. The specialist units develop practical TV/video production skills and professional practices. These units include pre-production, camerawork, production sound, digital video editing, post production sound, studio broadcasting, scriptwriting, film studies and advertising production.
Assessment:
The National Diploma consists of 18 units. Students attending the course full time can expect to achieve this over a two year period. Assessment is continuous and is based on a series of assignments.
How will I be taught?
The Media centre has a range of dedicated facilities, including video studios, Avid/Protools video/sound editing suites, and sound recording studios. An IT access centre with individual workstations.
What qualification will I get?
BTEC National Diploma Media (Moving Image)
Can I go onto further study?
Upon completion, students can go on to study at HND or Degree level.
What are the career opportunities?
Upon completion students can pursue a career in film, TV, corporate film production, advertising, or public relations.
